Clarence Daryl Edwards is a Senior Policy Associate at The Sheridan Group, where he works with nongovernmental organizations and philanthropic entities with an interest in global health, US foreign policy, and international development.
Daryl has sixteen years of experience in Washington, DC. He has advised foreign political leaders and entities on politics and international public policy issues in the US. Before joining The Sheridan Group, Daryl served as a consultant on communications and outreach for the World Bank; worked as an Advocate for the British NGO Global Witness (where he co-authored "Resource Transparency - The Time Has Come which appeared in the 2005 World Petroleum Congress Yearbook); served as the Assistant Director of the Congress and US Foreign Policy Program at the Council on Foreign Relations; and represented the interests of former Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi. Daryl served as a political appointee at the Department of State and the US Information Agency during the Clinton Administration; and worked for the lobbying firm Griffin, Johnson & Associates. He began his career in Washington, DC working for Senator Paul Sarbanes of Maryland.
Daryl was selected for the Atlantik Brucke Future Leader Program in 2005; for the German Marshall Fund's Transatlantic Young Future Leader in 2004; and was nominated to the American Council of Young Political Leaders in 2003. He is a member of the Society for International Development, where he is co-chair off the corporate social responsibility working group; and the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
Daryl received his Masters in International Public Policy from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, and B.S. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland.
