The newest member to The Sheridan Group, Sarah Snyder brings advocacy and outreach experience to her work, including a passion for youth-related and health care issues.
Sarah worked for the Senate HELP Committee Majority Health Policy Office under the leadership of the late Senator Kennedy. While she was there, she assisted senior staff with research on a variety of issues, specifically, health care reform, workforce issues, and Medicare. As a Project Assistant in the Office of Social Impact at AARP, Sarah managed logistics for six staff members and assisted in the prioritization of low-income issues for a strategic planning process.
Sarah gained extensive outreach experience and knowledge of health policy as an AmeriCorps Massachusetts Promise Fellow at Health Care For All, where she helped to enroll children and families in low-cost health insurance. She first became interested in advocacy as a college intern at Americans for the Arts, where she was able to use her experience in music education to engage in public policy.
She is currently completing a Master of Public Policy at the George Washington University with a concentration in health policy. Her coursework has included a cost-benefit analysis of mandatory HPV vaccination programs and an ethical evaluation of changes to Medicaid law. Sarah graduated with honors from Brandeis University with a major in Politics and minors in Spanish and Latin American studies. She is an avid equestrian and a new runner, currently training for the Cherry Blossom 10-Miler.
