About Us
The Sheridan Group began twenty one years ago with a simple idea – that good ideas and good causes deserve strong, strategic representation with our elected officials. Twenty years later, it continues to be our passion and our mission to provide this representation, along with coaching social change leaders on how to effectively do this work.
We have been honored to partner with some of the most thoughtful, bold and dedicated social change leaders of our time. Regardless of the electoral shifts, well-placed organizations and causes can flourish. From our early and ongoing work with Bono and the ONE campaign to current education reform projects, we have seen the power of policy and politics accelerate important social change and deliver a remarkable return on investment – in both human and financial terms.
Our clients include non-profits, philanthropic organizations, and social enterprises both in the United States and abroad. Tom Sheridan, our founder, established the nation’s first domestic AIDS coalition, which eventually involved more than 140 national organizations. He was the chief architect and strategist behind the enactment of landmark legislation for the HIV/AIDS community, the Ryan White CARE Act. Our portfolio today includes clients such as the American Cancer Society, Benetech, and New Profit Inc.
We take great care working with potential clients at the beginning of a project to ensure that objectives, deliverables, roles and timelines are clearly delineated. As a small firm, members of our senior team are deeply engaged in developing and implementing work for our clients. Our staff brings passion, creativity, tenacity, and superior strategic skills to their work.
