Strategic Planning

Both early stage and mature organizations can benefit from a fresh perspective and new ideas. The Sheridan Group assists organizations with strategic planning to build capacity and improve positioning to increase impact.

Strategic planning extends from analyzing internal functions to examining strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities in external affairs, including advocacy.

This counsel sometimes takes the form of a short-term reconnaissance project where we research and analyze an organization’s strategic options for potential engagement in government affairs. Such analyses can be particularly useful for organizations new to advocacy as they look to chart a strategic direction and build capacity to do so.

In other cases, we assist mature organizations in developing strategies to accelerate impact or re-vitalize a current government engagement effort to deliver on ambitious impact goals.

The Sheridan Group has great expertise in mapping the political assets of an organization and helping develop and nurture the most effective relationships on Capitol Hill and with the Administration to help advance public policy goals.
