Sam Almeida is a Legislative Analyst and Staff Assistant at The Sheridan Group. Sam brings a diverse background of experience with grassroots advocacy and nonprofit organizations to TSG. Prior to joining TSG, they served as a Digital Elections Communications Organizer with the Human Rights Campaign where they worked to get pro-equality candidates elected nationally and down-ballot across the state of Texas. 

Sam is passionate about community organizing and served on the Board of Directors for multiple LGBTQ advocacy organizations in Texas before going on to advocate at the national level. 

Sam was competitively selected from the University of Texas Systems for the Archer Center Graduate Public Policy program in Washington, D.C., which included an immersive communications internship within the Human Rights Campaign, an academic fellowship program aimed at providing in depth knowledge of policy making while gaining experiential learning, and performing quantitative analysis on emerging public policy issues. Upon completion of the Archer Fellowship, Sam earned their Master of Arts degree in Political Science. They also hold a B.B.A. in Business Management and Finance from The University of Texas at Tyler. 

Sam is a new Washington, D.C. resident, where they currently reside with their husband and two mini schnauzers while exploring relocation options for their self-built, sustainable tiny house. A native Texan, Sam is an avid member of the Texas State Society and Texas Exes D.C. Chapter.
